tel aviv vs new york...

the israeli newspaper haaretz, published an article saying that the cost of living in tel aviv is higher than new york. the article is based in a study presented by Mercer human resources consultancy firm that compared prizes in housing, goods, services, transport and many more categories. in the list tel aviv ranks number 14th while new york is number 22nd. we can also find moscow at the top, followed by tokyo and london.

I know that many people are living tel aviv because of the high cost of living, housing and food are so expensive here! going out any night means, at least, 100 dollars between entrance to a place, drinks, cabs...and yet, it sounds so weird that tel aviv is more expensive than the big apple...if that's the case i want to m
ove to NY right now...

back on the horse...

as we say in Spanish "when you fall from the horse, the best thing is to get back on it fast"...so after all my friends and therapist "suggested" i should start going out again, i agreed to meet this new friend and hit my favorite party, "The Notorious GAY" in Lima-Lima, a pub for straights that hosts this party on Mondays night. actually i was shock to see so much people out on a Monday, more over, when we where living at 2, the places was so crowded it was hard to walk...there was even a line outside full of gays waiting to get in.
the party was nice, my new friend really cool (we are on for other party on saturday already), i remember how much i hate to be in the gay scene again, but in the other hand i was happy to see different faces and not the same guys i always find in Gaydar or AtrafDating (the Israeli dating site)... of course i saw a couple of familiar faces: my ex's best friend, that i'm sure called my ex right away to let him know i was there, and few guys i dated shortly or just had a one night stand...i know, i was a whore back in my days, but now i'm almost a nun (according to my friend is like riding a bike, in the moment i start having sex with everybody again, it will all come back and the old whore will be here again).
i'm slowly feeling better, though i'm falling asleep everywhere. fortunately i'm leaving office now and going to sleep.

bad news...

today i'm sad. this blog never talks about politics, economics or stuff like that. sometimes little pieces of the reality i live in appear on my posts. in the Spanish version of the blog you can find stories of when my ex was in the war, or when i left argentina cause of economical problems, etc. but today i'm sad and i want to share it with you. this morning at 9am (israeli time) tho bodies of the tow kidnapped soldiers (Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser) were returned to Israel by the terrorist group Hezbullah (that took them from inside the country and kept them for two years in Lebanon) in exchange for an infamous Lebanese prisioner that killed a whole israeli family (including the 3 year old baby) during the 70's.
i'm sad cause every israeli men between 18 and 40 is in the army, i think of all the people i know there... i even think if something like that happened to my ex...it is hard.
i just wish the families find their peace soon, that Ehud's wife (they were married for less than a year when he got kidnapped) could move on. actually, i hope we all could.
and for Eldad and Ehud, rest in peace boys, you deserve it.

shopping therapy...

i'm not going through my best days so, even though i got a huge credit card bill after my mom's visit, i decided to treat myself and went shopping on Friday morning. i wanted to buy not very expensive sneakers and ended up buying the most expensive ones in the Adida's store, plus a really cool Nike Dry Fit t-shirt , jeans and a shirt...my next credit card bill will be soooo big, but what to do, sometimes you need to treat yourself Carrie Bradshaw style. So today I'm wearing my new pants, and matching the lime green of the sneakers with the Polo t-shirt (also in lime green)...the best way to start the week is wearing something that makes you feel good (actually the best way to start the week is having sex with the guy you love, but it ain't happening for me yet).
happy week you all!
