rufus!!!

last night was the night...Rufus' Wainwright first performance in Israel...the chosen place was the Heichal Hatarbut, the theater where the Israeli Philharmonic plays...it was FULL of people, specially gay people (more gays than in a Halloween party)...it was amazing!
he played for almost 2 hours, alone in front of the piano or playing acoustic guitar. his mom joined for some songs too.
he is so crazy "fagulous", wearing a really crazy suit, alternating sad songs and jokes, playing some of his classics - Gay Messiah, Cigarettes and Chocolate milk, Going to a Town, Poses, and more) and some new material. it was a magic night and the annoying Israeli audience went crazy with every song...
Beside the two pics from the show, I leave you the clip of Over the Rainbow...he sang that one last night too with his mom and it was unforgettable.

saturday morning...

on saturday morning i took the bike for a morning ride. i went to Yaffo/Yaffa, one of the oldest cities of the Mediterranean (like 5000 years) south of Tel Aviv... even Napoleon was here when trying to conquer the Middle East.
from the highest point of the very old city you can look at Tel Aviv's coastal line and also at the storm that was coming.
after the ride i went to brunch and had a big piece of chocolate mousse cake for dessert while raining outside...at least i was 2 block from my house, but it was hard to ride the bike after all i ate.

i agree...

i don't really know this guy, until today Keith Olbermann's name meant nothing to me. but i saw this clip on a blog and i felt good to hear the things he said.
one may think that US being the world power that it is would be standing in a different place right now, closer to Sweden, Denmark or Holland... and yet Prop 8 sadly passed. I have nothing much to add, I think I'll let this guy speak for me and for a lot of us.

team obama...

as u all know today is election day in the states...many of u may wonder why an argentinean gay living in israel cares about this... only an idiot wouldn't care about what happens today in the US. i mean, we are all suffering now the consequences of 8 years of Bush administration (and by "we" i mean the world and not only americans).
i think we are living an historical moment. sure, i'd have wanted Hillary Clinton to be the president...but Obama is good for change too, and i really wish he can make it to the Withe House and succeed in fulfilling his electoral promises for everybody's sake.
also, today Prop 8 will be voted in California (and i'm not sure if in some other state). needless to say...i'm all against Proposition 8. i hope the NO wins and gay people in Cali can keep getting married (and of course if there is some cute american that wants to get married to me, i'm free)
let's all hope that tonight we have two good reasons to celebrate: go Obama!
